{"id":1117,"date":"2016-01-05T18:32:03","date_gmt":"2016-01-05T18:32:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/?p=1117"},"modified":"2016-01-13T21:16:12","modified_gmt":"2016-01-13T21:16:12","slug":"ginger-cookies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/ginger-cookies\/","title":{"rendered":"Ginger Cookies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our son-in-law was looking for a sweet treat and I had just purchased some Crosby&#8217;s Molasses complete with a couple of recipes so he decided to give this one a go.\u00a0 We only made one change which was to add some candied ginger to the cookie.\u00a0 It was a great idea!<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\"><h3>Ingredients<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 1\/2 cups flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 1\/4 teas baking soda<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/4 teas salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tbls ground ginger<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 teas allspice<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3 tbls candied ginger, diced<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3\/4 cup butter, room temperature<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 cup packed light brown sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 cup white sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">6 tbls molasses<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 large egg<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/3 cup coarse sugar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"shortcode-directions instructions\"><h3>Directions<\/h3><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In a medium bowl whisk flour, baking soda, salt, spices and candied ginger.<\/li>\n<li>In the bowl of a stand mixer cream butter, brown sugar, white sugar until light and fluffy.\u00a0 Beat in molasses and egg.<\/li>\n<li>On lowest speed add flour mixture to butter\/sugar mixture increasing speed when flour becomes incorporated.<\/li>\n<li>Place cookie dough on a sheet of plastic wrap and flatten into a disk.\u00a0 Place in the freezer for 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350 F.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from freezer and divide into 18 balls.\u00a0 Place the coarse sugar in a bowl and roll the cookie balls to coat.<\/li>\n<li>Place balls on a lightly greased cookie sheet about 4&#8243; apart.\u00a0 Flatten the balls into 3&#8243; rounds.\u00a0 Bake 12-15 minutes.\u00a0 Cool on wire rack.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our son-in-law was looking for a sweet treat and I had just purchased some Crosby&#8217;s Molasses complete with a couple of recipes so he decided to give this one a go.\u00a0 We only made one [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":17,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[98,69,87],"tags":[144,211,205],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1117"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/17"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1117"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1117\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1118,"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1117\/revisions\/1118"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1117"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1117"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1117"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
