{"id":429,"date":"2015-02-07T19:28:06","date_gmt":"2015-02-07T19:28:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/?p=429"},"modified":"2015-02-07T19:53:13","modified_gmt":"2015-02-07T19:53:13","slug":"strawberry-shortcake-scones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/strawberry-shortcake-scones\/","title":{"rendered":"Strawberry Shortcake Scones"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\"><h3>Ingredients<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3 Cups Flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3\/4 Cup Sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">4 Tsp Baking Powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 Tsp Salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3\/4 Cup Cold Butter Cubed<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 Cups Fresh Cut Strawberries<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 Tbsp Lemon Juice<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 Tsp Vanilla Extract<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 Cup Milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode-directions instructions\"><h3>Directions<\/h3><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.<\/li>\n<li>Cut in butter to pea sized pieces. Do NOT overmix!<\/li>\n<li>Toss in strawberries<\/li>\n<li>Mix together lemon juice, vanilla and milk.<\/li>\n<li>Pour this over the surface of the dry mixture. Toss all together gently with a fork only enough to form a dough ball. It is important that you work this dough as little as possible or the finished scones will be too dense and heavy.<\/li>\n<li>Roll to 1 inch thickness and cut out scones with biscuit cutter and place on parchment lined baking sheet.<\/li>\n<li>Brush the tops of the scones with an egg wash of 1 egg beaten together with 1 tbsp water. You can sprinkle the tops with turbinado sugar (or just plain sugar) if desired.<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 minutes or until light golden brown.
