{"id":572,"date":"2015-02-15T18:46:38","date_gmt":"2015-02-15T18:46:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/?p=572"},"modified":"2015-04-07T13:56:37","modified_gmt":"2015-04-07T13:56:37","slug":"tourtiere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/tourtiere\/","title":{"rendered":"Tourtiere"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The credit for this recipe goes to Jodi DeLong.\u00a0 Her recipe was published in a Saltscapes magazine some years ago.\u00a0 I did change up a few things to make it my own and continue to make it as a warm satisfying winter dish.\u00a0 Serve it with a selection of steamed vegetables.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\"><h3>Ingredients<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Pastry for double crust pie<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 lb ground beef<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 lb ground pork<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 medium onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 clove garlic, minced<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 cooking apple, diced<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 medium potatoes, peeled, boiled and mashed<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">(reserve water from boiled potatoes)<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 cup apple cider<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 teas salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 teas pepper<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 teas thyme<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3\/4 teas sage<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3\/4 teas dry mustard<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 teas ground cloves<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 teas cinnamon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"shortcode-directions instructions\"><h3>Directions<\/h3><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In a large fry pan, fry the beef and pork until browned. If the meat is fatty, drain in a colander and return meat to fry pan.<\/li>\n<li>Add 1\/2 cup apple cider, onion, garlic and seasonings.<\/li>\n<li>Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
