{"id":810,"date":"2015-03-13T12:06:55","date_gmt":"2015-03-13T12:06:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/?p=810"},"modified":"2015-04-13T17:50:56","modified_gmt":"2015-04-13T17:50:56","slug":"strawberry-goat-cheese-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ravenview.com\/recipes\/strawberry-goat-cheese-salad\/","title":{"rendered":"Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When strawberries are in season here in Nova Scotia we eat them 3 times a day.\u00a0 Our local berries are smaller than the imports but when they are ripe and sweet they have a taste that can&#8217;t be beat.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\"><h3>Ingredients<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 head lettuce or baby spinach<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 pint strawberries<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 tbls red onion<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3&#8243; roll of soft goat cheese<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/4 cup pecans or walnuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\"><h3>Dressing<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3\/4 cup white sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 teas dry mustard<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 teas salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/3 cup vinegar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 teas finely chopped onion<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 cup olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 1\/2 teas poppy seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"shortcode-directions instructions\"><h3>Directions<\/h3><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Roast nuts in a dry fry pan or in the oven. Toss the lettuce with the onions and goat cheese. Slice the berries arrange on top. Sprinkle with the nuts.<\/li>\n<li>To prepare salad dressing, process the sugar, mustard, salt vinegar and onion in a blender and blend until smooth. Add salad oil slowly with motor running. Stir in poppy seeds.
