These ‘book caches’ combine the concept of ‘bookcrossing’ (the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise) with Geocaching. It’s the ultimate book exchange!

The concept is simple – take a book, leave a book. A few of the book caches are themed and you should only exchange like books. As well, ensure that the books are protected from the elements.

Some of these caches are actual Bookcrossing Zones, registered on Bookcrossing.com, the online free book exchange website that coined the term ‘bookcrossing’ back in 2001 and now has over 600,000 members releasing books into the wild.
