We had such an awesome time this past weekend at the Halifax Crafters Spring Fair! Totally awesome! Totally, totally, totally! It just keeps getting better and better.

There are so many things that we like about the Halifax Crafters Market…

First, this market is so unique, with its wide variety of local artisans who create an even wider variety of hand-crafted products. You’ll find 2D Art, Textile Art, Wood, Textile Apparel, Papercraft, Leather, Jewelry, Glass, Food, Cosmetics and Ceramics. All beautiful products, all hand-made and locally crafted. There are soooooo many choices! (Here’s a list of the 2013 Spring Market crafters)

It was hard but we were able to narrow our purchases down to the following:

We bought honey from Steady Brook Saddlery and Custom Leather, soap from Simply Sublime Soaps, streetscape mugs from Kyla Francis, a basket from Peggy Jenkinson and our new travel buddy, a sloth (who we have yet to name!) from from Tacha Reed at Woodland Wool.

Another thing that we like is getting together with our fellow crafters. As you can imagine, we all are quite busy throughout the year planning and creating so a lot of us don’t get the time to get together that we would like to. These two days gives us a chance to meet, mingle, chat and visit each other’s booth to see what wondrous items that each have created since we saw them last. Plus, and another favourite, is that there’s always a lot of new crafters at each market so we get a chance to meet them too!

And, of course, the most important thing we like is that this is a time to meet with our customers. We love meeting both our past customers and new. Everyone is so nice! We love it when people drop by, chat, touch our wares, feel the warmth of the wood and smile. We love meeting people that have the same feeling for wood as we do. We love meeting you all! 🙂 You will often hear people say that there is a great feeling of community here, and it is so true!

Yep, there is definitely a lot of reasons why we like this market! 🙂

Here are a few photos that we got a chance to take:

This is a photo of the hall set up on the Friday evening before:

Here’s a shot of some happy shoppers:

We were all entertained by the antics of the Puppet Dudes who gave frequent performances for all of us on the first floor:

Here’s a photo of our booth. You can also see Sewn By Blythe directly behind us, Gold Fools to the left and Sarah Burwash to the right of us.

Here’s our little friend again, hanging off of one of our table displays:

The crafters have a greet and meet with potluck before opening on the Sunday morning of the market. This is always a delightful time with great conversation, the sharing of news and great eats. There were cranberry muffins, fruit, loaves, blueberry scones, apple crisp and cinnamon biscuits:

Here is a copy of the 2013 Halifax Crafters Spring Fair Poster. It was created by Bethany Riordan-Buttworth of Bread and Butter Pottery

Thanks to everyone for your support, for us and the Halifax Crafters Market. Thanks to the sponsors, The Coast and CKDU Radio.

Special thanks to the Halifax Crafters Society organizers and volunteers. You did an awesome job… again!

Hope to see you all at the next Halifax Crafters Fair in December!

We had such an awesome time this past weekend at the Halifax Crafters Spring Fair!
