Cranberry Sauce
We eat cranberry sauce year round. Besides turkey dinner it is great on sandwiches, burritos and toast, and is integral in the dressing on Christmas Salad….which we eat year round as well. I had used the recipe for cranberry sauce that is on the back of the bag of cranberries for years and then decided to experiment with it. I really like the replacing the water with fruit juice and if using citrus I also use the zest.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- zest of 1 orange, a large clementine, lemon or lime
- Juice and pulp of the same fruit and enough water to equal 1/3 cup
- 1/3 cup sugar
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, simmer until berries pop and sauce thickens.
