A large, shallow Yellow Cedar burl platter bowl th A large, shallow Yellow Cedar burl platter bowl that is 11 1/4” in diameter and 2” tall. In addition to the beautiful burl it also features a red stained foot that slightly elevates the bowl giving a floating shadow line.

A large bowl that features an aged copper and bron A large bowl that features an aged copper and bronze look on the outside with an awesome example of Nova Scotia Cherry on the inside! It’s a big ‘un at 13 9/16” in diameter and 4 1/4” tall.
Another bowl made of Ash that features a striking Another bowl made of Ash that features a striking red ring near the rim. The wood was also harvested in the Hardwoodlands area of Nova Scotia in 2011. It is 7 3/4” (19.5cm) in diameter and 3” (7.5cm)  tall so it’s just perfect for a salad for two!
A traditional box style burial urn made of Ash tha A traditional box style burial urn made of Ash that features a natural finish, showing its beautiful contrasting yellow and light brown grain. The box is 10 1/8” wide x 8” deep x 4 5/8” tall with an interior of approximately 200 cubic inches.

A photo still doesn’t do this piece justice but hopefully it gives you a bit of a better view of the rich, reddish hues running  through the differing shades of browns. :)
A shallow bowl made from wood harvested in the Mah A shallow bowl made from wood harvested in the Mahone Bay area in 2010 from a 100 plus year old Walnut tree that fell during Hurricane Igor. It is 12 1/2” (32cm) in diameter by 2 3/4” (7cm) tall and finished with Treebalm so it’s perfect for salads! Unfortunately, we were unable to truly capture the beautiful reddish brown grain in the photo. :(

Here’s a Yellow Cedar burl bowl that, in additio Here’s a Yellow Cedar burl bowl that, in addition to the awesome grain with its multitude of exploding eyes, features a sloped side and red stained foot. It is 8 1/4” (21cm) in diameter by 3 1/8” (8cm) tall and has a super smooth feel and a warm glow. The wood came to us from the West Coast of Canada many years ago via a friend. A beauty, indeed!

Everything AND the kitchen sink! We recently finis Everything AND the kitchen sink! We recently finished a six foot potting bench for the garden that includes an under-counter storage area and a sink. We’ll add the tap and run a hose to it in the Spring. It’ll be a great area for prepping our plants as well as rinsing them off at harvest time. Plus, we can reuse the rinse water simply by emptying the bucket! 🪴

Here’s an Ash bowl that’d be great for large s Here’s an Ash bowl that’d be great for large salads! It is finished with Treebalm, our food safe finish, and it measures 12” (30cm) in diameter by 3 3/4” (10cm) high. The grain on this one is beautiful too!
Here’s a small bowl made of Laburnum, a tree nat Here’s a small bowl made of Laburnum, a tree native to the mountains of Europe. It is commonly used as an ornamental, sometimes called Golden Chain. We were given the wood by a good friend and fellow woodturner from British Columbia. It is 4” in diameter by 1 7/8” tall. Awesome to work with and with beautiful results. Agree? :)
Here’s a simple project that has great reward! J Here’s a simple project that has great reward! Just a board with a few slots cut in it makes a great card holder for a young one. Now cards games with our granddaughter are even more fun! And you know what? After seeing how convenient this is we’re likely going to make a couple for ourselves!

In addition to the composter we also built this fe In addition to the composter we also built this fence and arbor with gate to dress up the front entrance to the garden, and *hopefully* provide a deer deterrent. It runs almost 25 feet and also made of Hemlock, though we stained it instead of letting it go grey. 🛑 🦌

Our new three bin composter made with Nova Scotia Our new three bin composter made with Nova Scotia hemlock! A great project combining our love of gardening and woodworking! After eight years of service our old three bin composter made from pallet wood gave up the ghost so it was time to build a new one. Now back to making quality soil. We hope the red wigglers approve… :)

We recently found this sweetheart of a bowl in a beautiful piece of Yellow Cedar burl that came to us from the West coast many years ago. The bowl is 5.25” in diameter and 2.5” tall and sits slightly raised on a red stained foot.
