Here’s a Peyoke style Maple bowl that we turned recently that features a textured band.
The bowl is approximately 6″ in diameter and 3″ high. It is finished to a high shine and the textured band is left natural.
The texturing, in addition to giving a nice effect, gives a contrasting color that really adds to the presence of the bowl.
It has also been turned quite thin (1/8″-3/16″) which gives a visual lightness that is verified when one picks it up.
