Christmas Cookies
My Mom made these cookies every Christmas and they are by far my favourite cookie. Now every time I make them I think of her. They are a family favourite and always follow Christmas dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 cup soft butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teas vanilla
- 1/8 teas salt
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup glazed green cherries, whole
- 1/2 cup glazed red cherries, whole
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add the vanilla, salt and flour.
- Finally add the nuts and cherries.
- Divide dough in three pieces. Roll each in waxed paper/parchment paper making a 1 1/2″ and place in fridge overnight.
- Slice in 1/4″ cookies with a sharp knife and bake at 375 F for 8-10 minutes.
