• 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb lean ground pork
  • mushrooms
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/4 pepper(any colour)
  • 2 slices bread (spelt or other)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teas thyme
  • 1 teas chili powder
  • 1/2 teas paprika


  1. Process the mushrooms, garlic, onion, peppers and bread in food processor or dice by hand.
  2. If bread is fresh, break it up and put in on a cookie sheet in a 300F oven to dry out.
  3. Combine all ingredients and shape into meat balls.
  4. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350F for 15 minutes or until done.

Serving Suggestions:
Add to pasta sauces or your favourite barbeque sauce.

The cooking time will depend on the size of the meatballs.

Adjust spices to your liking.
