Here are a few wooden shaving brushes featuring genuine badger hair!
The grade of badger hair used in these brushes is Best Badger. Best Badger grade hair ranges in color from light brown to gray and has a color separation in the length of the hair, referred to as “banded.” Best badger hair has great water absorbing capabilities, making it an ideal brush for creating quality shaving lather, particularly with dense creams that require more water to properly hydrate when lathering.
On the face, best Badger grade hair has a soft feel but still has some light “scrubbiness” to it and offers a good middle-of-the-road choice between the scratchy boar hair and the very soft Silvertip Badger grades.
