“I couldn’t believe my eyes!”, Ester said, “I have been Geocaching for years and this is the first time that I found anything like this. It’s a strange day!”
Ester said that he got up early this morning and logged on to geocaching.com, a central website that players use to get information related to their game. He was immediately greeted with a cache, GC080401, that was just posted. It was very near his work so he left early, hoping to be the first person to find it. Apparently there are ‘bragging rights’ for the first player to find one of these hidden treasures. After a short search of a heavily wooded area he discovered a fairly large wooden box.
“I sort of knew something was strange when I tried to lift it, it weighed like fifty pounds”, Ester said.
Upon opening the box he stood back in awe. There were hundreds of gold coins carefully packed in bubble wrap and straw.
“At first I thought it was some kind of joke but the more I looked at the coins the more I realized that they were real”, Ester related later.
Geocaching is a game played world-wide where players from around the world seek treasures , called geocaches. These geocaches are hidden by other players and usually only contain dollar-store type items, certainly not millions of dollars in gold coins. A find like this will definitely puts a new spin on the game.
When asked if he will continue to play the game of geocaching Mr. Ester replied, “Of course! What else can one do on the first day of April?”
Keep on cachin’!

I checked that cache you listed, and there must have been a typo. That cache has not yet been published. . . Hey, wait a minute!

Had me going there ! which is a good one considering my job is to hide gold and silver coins as part of the isis adventure.
The latest news is that we have a new Gold Geocache game starting this weekend and this one really is for real silver and gold worth between 100.00 and 500.00 pounds sterling. Yes this really is for real.
All I will say for now is that this first of many gold and silver geocaches that have been hidden all over the country by my team at sonic is somewhere in Regents Park, London but don’t go digging, because we never hide our caches under the ground. See NEWS section on Sonic Games UK website on 1st July 2012 for more details.
