We would like you to meet a couple of old friends, this “Handtool Thursday” morn, our Pick And Shovel.
Friends to each other, as pick and shovel, and friends to us for their many years of service, allowing us to accomplish many, many projects. The biggest being the basement we dug out beneath our second home about 35 years ago. ( Oh, to have those young backs again!) For the past several days they have been helping us dig a small foundation for our greenhouse. My grandfather always comes to mind whenever these are in use, likely because he was a general labourer here in the city of Halifax. He used to refer to himself as a ditch digger. Hard life. Nice to be reminded from time to time from whence we came. Thanks, old friends, all three of you.
